Somalia government even destroyed entire cities where most Isaaq people lived. This caused a lot of pain and suffering, with over 500,000 innocent lives lost and many families torn apart. The survivors still carry deep scars from these terrible events

Efforts to address the trauma and seek justice for the survivors and families affected by the Isaaq Genocide have been limited, leaving many waiting for recognition and compensation for what they’ve endured. This ongoing lack of justice only makes the pain and suffering of the Isaaq people worse. Without acknowledgment and reparations, the wounds of the past remain unhealed, and the trauma continues to haunt them.
